Rotatrim RCMON18 overview

  • 1Description

This is the 18" Monorail Cutter from Rotatrim. The baseboard is screen gridded in 10mm squares for accurate placement of the cutting material. The unit's guide rail prevents the cutting head from swiveling. There are also "A" size indicators and two additional metric/imperial scale bars. This trimmer is designed to withstand high volume applications. The Sheffield steel cutting blade will cleanly cut virtually all flexible materials up to 2.0mm in thickness.

    Rotatrim RCMON18 reviews

Monorail Cutter (18") is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid and simple - quality is good I have an epson 4000 which prints to the 17 size, so I went with the 18 cutter but I do wish I had went ahead a went for the larger size. I does such good job that I wish I had the flexibility to do more with it. The opening with the blade in place is just barely large enough to slide my media through. But it does fit and it cuts very well. It is quirky that you have to slide the blade back to the starting position before you can remove your media but it holds the paper very secure and the return trip does not seem to cause any problems at all other than the necessity to form the habit of remembering to do it before you try to remove the paper!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So easy, this novice can use it I've never used a cutter/trimmer before, but was looking for something to cut photos/cardstock for a 'Christmas photo with Santa's pony' program at our barn. It's sharp and steady and durable! As a novice, I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping for something that would help me cut the photos and stay sharp. I was also hoping for it to cut multiples at the same time. There are guides, but I guess I was thinking it would say for 3x5, place card here. lol I figured out how to use the ruler on the other side. And it didn't cut as many multiples as I was hoping for. But, that could be just me not using it correctly. Bottom line, it's easy to use, sharp, holds the paper/photos steady. I like it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded my Expectations Previous trimmers that I have owned were never true. They never cut any of my photographs truly square or accurately. Needless-to-say, it was a real disappointment to take the time, trouble and expense to produce an outstanding photograph for display only to have it flawed by a deficient trimmer. I do not have this issue with my new RotaTrim trimmer, it performs flawlessly allowing me to produce a truly professional photograph. I could not be more delighted with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great cutter I've used professional trimmer's before, but never had my own. I bought one when I bought a 13x19 printer, assuming that I would be able to cut down my prints easily. While I can cut the sizes I want, my only regret was not purchasing the 24. This thing is awesome!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I use this cutter for photographic paper. I got the 18 cutter because I can only print 13 wide at this point, but if I ever upgrade to a 17 printer it'll still work. Once you get the hang of the movement and starting points it works great. I'd like to see the paper end guide (stop)come off but it captive. Not really a biggie, but for longer paper I have to mess with it a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Cutter It's very solid and well made. I will use it to cut 17 x 25 sheets of inkjet paper from 17 rolls. I've used it once so far, and it works very well. I'll have to get in the habit of remembering to move the cutting head back to the beginning before removing the work. I wish the body was wider, which would make handling large size paper easier, but that's a small drawback.
