Fujifilm Velvia 100F overview

  • 1Description

Fujichrome Velvia 100F Professional RVP 100F Color Reversal Film from Fujifilm is a daylight-balanced color transparency film that exhibits high color saturation reproduction and accuracy, vivid contrast, and a super-fine grain structure to render imagery cleanly and clearly. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when processed in E-6 or CR-56 processes and can effectively be pulled one half stop or pushed one stop with minimal variations in color balance and gradation.

The introduction of new-generation cyan, magenta, and yellow couplers gives this film its uniquely saturated look and also offers anti-fading characteristics for ensured color image storage permanence. Especially notable color accuracy, including the ability to clearly depict difficult colors such as cyan blue, blue green, yellow green, lemon yellow, purple, and moss green, make this film especially well-suited to nature and landscape use as well as commercial, product, and interior photography applications.

This item is one roll of 620-format film, which has been cut and spooled by Film for Classics.

Fujifilm Velvia 100F reviews

Fujichrome Velvia 100F Professional RVP 100F Color Transparency Film (620 Roll Film) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color on steroids This is a great film but not for everybody. This is not a negative film but a positive meaning that you'll get slides that you can project on a wall. The special thing about this slide film though is that the saturation of the colors reproduced is higher than other films making it great for landscapes and sunsets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun! (Slide Film - not Print Film.) This is the first 620 film I've ever used. When I bought this film, I thought it was a Print film, not a Slide film. Total n00b, I know. Wanted to snap a few photos with an old Rediflex that a friend bought off the street for me over a year ago. This was the first film I used in the camera and I didn't know if it would work even though the mechanics looked solid to me. Took photos in sunny weather as well as indoors in varying amounts of light, and played around with some double exposures. Went to my usual 120-friendly developer and they were kind enough to ask if I wanted to have it developed in traditional slides (I didn't get why at the time, but I do now) or as print negatives, but then the colors would change. I chose to get them as print negatives and am happy with the result! Most of the pictures are very green but I like that. I might try one of the Print color films next time, instead of Slide. Overall I have no complaints about the film, hence the 5 stars. Thanks B&H for selling 620 film!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Re-Spool This re-spooled Fujichrome Velvia is nicely done and comes in a black plastic canister. The film is spooled by the folks at Film For Classics who have been at this since 1988. The film is professionally re-spooled onto metal 620 spools, not plastic ones. That makes a big difference especially for those who shoot with a Kodak Medalist which has a very tight film chamber and can easily jam up with film that's been re-spooled onto plastic spools (I have had experience with this problem). As far as Velvia goes; it has been a fabulous film from the moment of it's introduction in 1990 and I have been shooting it since then in both 35mm and 120. I love it. Nuff said. Now the film advertised here is actually not Velvia 100F but really Velvia. Fuji dropped the Velvia F a few years ago (lets face it, it WAS irrelevant). In closing, I highly recommend trying any of the re-spooled 620 films that B&H offers here on this site. They are all top notch especially the RVP-100 (Velvia).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary if you shoot with a 620 camera Inherited an old camera from my father when he passed away. Searched everywhere for 620 spools to re-spool current films on. Spent months re-tooling 120 spools and dealing with only being able to shoot half a roll with kinks. SO happy this product is available.
