Furman AC-215A Overview

The Furman AC-215A 2-Outlet Power Conditioner offers advanced and comprehensive transient voltage surge suppression. Furman's proprietary Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) suppresses AC noise evenly, assuring maximum performance from your system. SMP circuitry offers the highest degree of protection against electrical surges and spikes, and does this without sacrificing itself or any of its components. In addition, the Extreme Voltage Shutdown circuit automatically turns off the unit when it is fed 135 volts or higher, protecting itself and connected equipment from the extreme voltage.

The AC-215A is a compact 2-outlet power conditioner, and its streamlined design integrates easily into any system. Included are two brackets which allow you to mount it inconspicuously behind a projector, LCD or plasma screen, inside of a rack, on a wall or a ceiling, or any other location where discrete power conditioning is needed.

Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) with a high current TVZ-MOV provides the highest level of AC surge suppression
Automatic Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) guards your valuable equipment from dangerous wiring faults

I was looking for a low-cost power conditioning solution for my home entertainment system. I used an EMI monitor to test existing EMI noise on my power line, and after the Furman was attached. There is about a 20% reduction in overall EMI, so not perfect, but at this price probably the best solution around.

Does this have a Under Voltage protection too? ...

Does this have a Under Voltage protection too? Would this be OK to use with active PFC computer PSU? i want a device that protects from over and under voltages. Iam not trusting the quality of the UPSs around 250US$.

It can't protect from under-voltage. An automatic voltage regulator like an APC Line-R can give you limited protection from 85V and up. But only a UPS can give you full under-voltage protection. I actually use my AC-215A daisy-chained with a UPS. This AC-215A can sure be used with active PFC PSUs.

As a power conditioner and noise suppressor, can you plug a power strip into the Furman AC215A (drawing <10 amps total)?

You could connect a power strip to a Furman AC-215A 2-Outlet Power Conditioner, B&H # FUAC215, but it isn't best practice; if you need more outlets, it would be best to look at a power conditioner with enough outlets for what you want to connect, such as the Furman M-8x2 Merit Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner & Surge Protector, B&H # FUM8X2.

Although the Furman AC-215A does come with mounting hardware, its dimensions are smaller than the standard half-rack size.

The Furman AC-215A 2-Outlet Power Conditioner has a width dimension of 8.5", which is shy of a half-rack measurement of 9.5" (standard full rack width measures 19"). There is no specified rack mounting hardware for the Furman AC-215A 2-Outlet Power Conditioner.
