Rosco 150060030032 Overview

Rosco's unique Velour Black acrylic paint, packaged in concentrated form, is designed to be diluted with water, at least 1:1 and as much as 15:1. With such tremendous extendibility, Supersaturated offers the widest range of effects possible while being extremely economical to use. On porous and non-porous surfaces, Supersaturated achieves vibrant, opaque color fields. It also creates bright, translucent washes where the color remains as intense as aniline dyes, without the health hazards associated with dyes.

Supersaturated Roscopaint is formulated with a unique binder that gives it superior adhesion, durability, and flexibility even on difficult surfaces like Rosco Projection Screens and Rosco Dance Floors. It can also be used as a tint for other paints, binders and coatings and is perfect for both interior and exterior projects.

Good, but...

I bought this for a home theater screen border. It is MUCH darker/flatter than any 'flat' paint you will find anywhere else. I wondered if it could replace some type of fabric (e.g., velveteen). It cannot. It still reflects more light than someone would find acceptable for this application. So, it would work walls that are not directly bordering the screen, but not as the outline itself.

Thebest flat black paint

For stage and home theater applications, this is the best paint available. It is pure black and absorbs light well. However, it scratches very easily and for that reason is not good for high traffic areas. Paint must be diluted. It is very water soluble. Spray gun does not work well with this paint.

question

In using this paint what is the surface texture? Does it have any texture? Smooth, slightly rough, coarse? Thanks
Asked by: Russell
It seems like thin paint. I cut it with 50% water. I don't think the texture comes from the paint but from the surface you're painting on.

question

What is the spectral reflectance values of this Velour Black paint?
Asked by: PATRICK C.
The reflectance of the supersaturated black is around 3.2% (specular included) across the visible spectrum using a HunterLab UltraScan PRO. The lowest of any paint-able material I've tested.
