The Fiberbilt by Case Design 12x50" Tank Tube Tripod Case (Black) is a heavy duty transit case made to ship tripods and light stands up to 50" long with a diameter up to 12". The case made from polyethylene with ridges, 1/2" foam lining top and bottom and double-wall smooth construction inside. It is able to withstand 7200 lbs per square foot pressure. The 515 series Tank Tube is carried by a spring-loaded steel rubber grip handle.

The exterior dimensions are 15 diameter by 40 long. Seems well built and tough enough; just seems too big for most tripods.

WIll this case be allowed on airline checked baggage?

Each airline has their own specifications for checked baggage restrictions, and your best bet is to check with your particular airline prior to traveling; however, generally speaking, checked baggage cannot exceed 62 in length, width and depth combined. This case has a length of 50 and a diameter of 12 , so it may be a tight squeeze.
