CameraBright X1-ER overview

  • 1Description

Today's digital still cameras have the ability to take excellent videos and movies. The problem is that the unit is only provided with a flash unit at best, which only works for a split-second. When taking videos, you need a light to come on and stay on. CameraBright lights are designed to turn on and stay on while you take your video. The advanced technology built into every CameraBright light ensures continuous, simple, single button operation; push the button once to turn the unit on, and push the button again to turn the unit off. If you forget to turn the unit off, it will turn itself off in a matter of minutes, thereby ensuring a great video next time.

This Extended Range Version provides a narrower beam that has an effective illumination range almost twice that of the other versions (up to 20')

Take better pictures or videos at night
CameraBright light's advanced white light LED technology allows a fuller spectrum of light to illuminate your exciting moments in low or no-light conditions.
Connects to virtually any camera or camcorder
If your camera or camcorder can connect to a tripod, then it can connect to a CameraBright light and still connect to your tripod.
Reduces Redeye
Some of today's modern cameras have a small intermittent light that comes on just before taking a picture, which is intended to reduce redeye. This current solution is typically inadequate and less effective with larger groups or longer distances. CameraBright lights work with your camera's existing technology and almost entirely eliminate redeye in most cases. Say good bye to retouching your pictures after they have been developed.
Improved picture quality with your existing flash
If you are using your camera in a low or no-light situation with a CameraBright light, you can "see" what you are taking a picture of, therefore eliminating the need to take many pictures hoping to get everybody in the shot or hoping they were all looking at the camera. Use the CameraBright light to set your picture up, and when you snap the perfect picture, the flash will go off just as normal.
Easy on, Easy off
With a simple thumbwheel mounted on the back of the unit, simply rotate one way to connect to your camera or camcorder, and then rotate the other way to disconnect. But with CameraBright light's compact design and huge benefits, you will never want to take it off again.

    CameraBright X1-ER reviews

X1-ER Extended Range Digital/Video Camera Light (Silver) is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK What a piece of junk. I know the reviews weren't good, but since it was on sale for $10 I thought I'd try it. Now I know why it's on sale- because they can't move them. Virtually no light output at all- looks like 4 LEDs in the pic, but is actually a light in the back of the case that puts some light out of the 4 clear lenses at the front- mostly out of the two outer lenses, almost nothing from the 2 center ones. I turned the room lights off and could barely see the light from this. Don't waste your time, I will be returning. If this is their quality, this company will be out of business soon, and B&H should NOT carry this product. I associate B&H with higher quality products than this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is what it is. This IS NOT a light for shooting video!!! This is a light to attach to a digital/video camera, not actually for shooting video though (I know it is called a "Digital/Video Camera Light", which is a bit misleading). Everyone seems to think it is, but it just won't throw enough light for that. I have owned these little lights for over 10 years and probably the best use of them is for focusing still images. It's less obtrusive than a modeling flash, so it won't make subjects blink while you're photographing them. Also, you'll still have batteries in your flash head since it won't have eaten them all focusing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light is bright, just not focused... I was hoping to use this with my Kodak Playsport to get some 'decent' fishing footage at night. While the 4 LED's are bright, they are not focused at all, and I don't believe go to the advertised range at all. If you are taking video of something close-up this could work, but anything beyond 6 ft, probably not. Also, the button on the back that turns the lights on sticks out too far and is easily hit. I have had this in a pocket, or even a small bag and inadvertantly turned the light on...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A little extra light Its nice to have a little more light to record video, or even take pictures, and this light does the job. Compact, and easy to use. You can even add more untits to create a even brighter back round.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good in the dark and up close it is not bright enough to be usefull

Rated 2 out of 5 by from GREAT PAPERWEIGHT Well now, just like other reviewers, there is no way you will get 20ft of usable light for photos. Even 6ft is a more than it can deliver. The price was right, so I took a chance & even 3ft was best it would do in complete darkness until I replaced the batteries (at more than I paid for the Light) did I get any usable light out of the unit. It is obvious why the discount is so great! Great concept, just fell short on the engineering end.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy item Good when light is minimal to shoot a persons face. I put some frost in front of mine to smooth out the light. It will not light up a room but is handy when you shoot close ups.I have it mounted on a Kodak Zi8, its helps in the dark and in very low light,I guess its a must have unless you shoot in daytime only.
