The Schoeps MK4A Cardioid Capsule is part of the Colette series of modular capsules designed for use with the CMC preamplifiers. The cardioid polar pattern results in maximum rejection of rear incidental audio signal, eliminating off-axis noise and feedback. The MK4A is optimized for close capturing of loud vocals and signal sources without the associated noise or proximity effect. The MK4A features a lower sensitivity and low frequency roll-off to combat the proximity effect associated with using cardioid microphones close to the source signal. The MK4A maintains a uniform frequency response throughout and is perfect for vocal capturing at high volumes and close range.

The MK4A features a low frequency roll-off that compensates for the proximity effect that occurs during close capturing of vocals.
Low Sensitivity Rating
-10dB attenuation enables close capturing with enhanced headroom. The result enables the MK4A to be positioned close to the source without noise or distortion.
