The gray Schoeps W5 3.5" Solid Foam Ball Windscreen is an acoustic foam windscreen made for use with omnidirectional microphones. It is designed to reduce wind noise in outdoor environments.
You can also use the windscreen as a low-cost alternative to popscreens when greater efficiency is needed. It is compatible with the MK 2, MK 2H, MK 2S and MK 2XS microphone capsules.
Minimal Influence
The W5 can be used with pressure-gradient transducers in light wind as it offers minimal influence on sound and polar patterns, especially at low frequencies.
