This Cokin Z-Pro Series Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is designed for use with a Cokin Z-Pro Series Filter Holder. It helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is able to filter the sky while minimizing its effect on the land. It is particularly useful where the transition between sky and foreground is indeterminate, such as images featuring mist, fog, or the tops of trees. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and this filter provides up to a 3-stop reduction in light from entering a lens.

This filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

    Z-Pro Series Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best for landsacape I have a 17-40L canon lens and used before the cokin P. You will obtain less vignette with cokinz setup but with the use of a slim polarizer and not at all without it. The image will be a little bit soft when you use these filters but they are the cheapest gradual choice. I have them all the time at me and they are a helpful product. One more downsize: the can be scratched very easily and this will be a problem when you shoot at f11 or higher and with more than a second exposure in diresct sun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tool for my landscape-photography Since I use the Z-Pro Graduated Gray-Filter I have no burned-out sky anymore. Easy to use and very helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great filter for the price! Second one these I've purchased. I own a mix of Cokin, Lee & Hightech filters. I've had awesome results with the Cokin filters. My only gripe is the Cokin filter holder. There are plastic pins that hold the lens adaptor in place. The top one does not sit flush (at least on mine) and scratched my original filter. I've switched to another holder and have had no problems. If it weren't for the holder issue I'd give it 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and again Very nice filter! The graduated neutral density filter is considered by some to be the staple of filter photography and I believe it! It was actually lighter than I expected. This really good for skies! I might have gone for a hard step first, but it is hard to tell. A++++

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality What can I say? It works great and like all of Cokin's filters, it's build quality is very high. Very useful for grabbing detail in a bright sky when exposing for a darker subject.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I use this filter for both film and digital. Very satisfied with it although I need to use it sometimes with a 1 stop grad to take perfect sunset shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality This is a well constructed filter. The size makes it easy to handle and control the level of filtering. The case is nice and makes it easy to carry.
