Kinetronics KSSGN overview

  • 1Description

The Kinetronics Spec Grabber is a handy tool that facilitates the removal of dust "specks" from film and transparencies, lenses, CCDs, SLR mirrors, imaging devices, framing glass, and other delicate surfaces.

A small soft washable pad on the end of the Spec Grabber provides a high adhesion surface that sticks to contaminant particles with considerably more cohesive force than the contaminated surface.

When the Spec Grabber is put in contact with the particle, it adheres to the particle, while leaving no residue on the contacted surface.

Non-conductive, and may be used on active CCDs allowing the technician to monitor the decontamination process.
May be used on disk drive heads, optical sensors such as CCD arrays, mirrors and lenses, UV windows, films and silicon wafers among other hard to clean surfaces.
May repeatedly cleaned in water, or soap solution without diminishing its adhesive qualities.

Kinetronics KSSGN reviews

Spec Grabber Cleaning Tool with Two Cleaning Pads is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I bought this to remove a particularly infuriating piece of dust on my camera sensor. While this wasn't able to get rid of that piece (I fear something more serious is going on with it), it did remove a significant amount of dust that I hadn't noticed previously. Comparing the before and after images was rather impressive. While this device wasn't a magic fix for everything, it performed well, and is so cheap I see no reason not to keep these around, just in case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple easy to use tool! Occasionally when cleaning a sensor there is a spec that doesn't want to be removed. This tool does a great job of picking up those unwanted specs. Used in conjunction with a SensorKlear Loupe kit so you can see exactly what you are doing and the spec grabber becomes even more useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supprisingly good Cant beat it for a few bucks. I had a spec (fiber) on the mirror that did not show up in images. But it was annoying when looking throught the viewfinder. This product worked well to grab the spec off the mirror.Pay attention to directions, and DO NOT drag this item across the mirror/sensor. It will smear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect tool I used it in cleaning my camera sensor, camera mirror, it's perfect for picking up dust and lint, what's great about it is it's reusable just clean it with water and again it's ready for use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It made it worse I followed the instructions to remove a dust spec that didn't blow with air. Not only the spec grabber didn't get rid of the spec, but left a smudge wherever it touched my camera's sensor.
