Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tripod head cover while hiking I frequently hike with a tripod attached to a back or strapped on and it always gets banged up or caught in trees. Putting this over the tripod head makes a huge difference! The head doesn't get caught as easily and when it bangs into things it doesn't get dinged & damaged. I bought 3 and also use them for lenses. Putting a lens in one and clipping it to my pack straps is safer and more secure than putting a lens in a soft pounch in my pack. I've hiked for hours with a Canon 100mm macro in this bag clipped on an external strap and had no issues. The clip and sewn attachment are very strong. Readily accessible & more secure. What's not to like!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for Ballhead Protection It is just right for covering my Z-1 ballhead mounted on a Gitzo 3541LS. For those considering other uses, don't count on the drawstring closing the top tight. It closes it some (enough to tighten in around the base of the ballhead when mounted on the tripod), but there is still a pretty wide opening. The material is too thick for the drawstring to draw real tight. Not a problem for ballhead protection, but be aware if you want this for lens storage you will only want to store a lens that is almost as big around as the Snoot Boot. I would give it three stars for lens storage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sounded Nice and Inexpensive I purchased this pouch at the same time as the Zeiss Otus 55mm f1.4 lens. Since they were on the same webpage at B&H, I assumed it would be the most practical pouch for this lens. However, I was disappointed because the drawstring doesn't pull the opening small enough to prevent the lens from falling out. No, fortunately, I didn't have an accident, but I won't use this pouch for this lens. The problem is the neoprene won't compress enough to permit good closure. I would send this pouch back but it's low cost isn't worth the return postage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No long enough This pouch was for a Canon EF-S 17-55 mm lens with hood. Because of the hood, it is wide. I measured the dimensions of the lens carefully and ordered the 4.5 X 6.5 pouch. It is not long enough so it does not close. That is my fault, so be sure to think carefully about the size you need. Otherwise, it serves nicely to protect the lens from bumps and scrapes. Reasonable value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good protection I use it in unusual way, to protect tripod head on-the-go. Medium size snoot boot matches Gitzo GH3780QR perfectly. I attach the pouch to the tripod with elastic strap, and can put it on/off head in a second. Very fast and convenient way to protect tripod head from accidental hits when hiking, and I know no other pouch as good as Snoot Boot for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit for a 135mm lens Works great for lenses in the 85mm to 135mm focal length range. Closes tightly thanks to the little locking mechanism on the drawstring, but does leave a little space open primarily due to the thickness of the neoprene. Much better lens bag than the stock soft lens pouch that comes with Canon lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OP/Tech Snoot Boot (Medium) I use the Snoot Boots over my ball heads for my tripods to protect them as needed. The draw cord with a cord loc holds in in place very well. But, if you need even more holding power, use some paracord with a cord loc. OP/Tech is my product of choice for protection of my “stuff”. Jim, Charlotte, NC

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it's in the bag i've been using wide-angle lens pouches for my tripod head, but this gadget is a far better solution. it's big enough to accommodate my Manfrotto medium head, sturdy enough that the levers don't stand a risk of penetrating, and clips on to the tripod strap to not get lost.
