Sennheiser e 908 B Overview

The Sennheiser e 908 B is a miniature condenser instrument microphone specifically optimized for use with wind instruments, congas, and drums with free-floating suspension systems. The cardioid capsule captures audio in vivid detail and clarity while exhibiting excellent rejection of off-axis noise and feedback. The miniature capsule remains out of sight during performances and the flexible gooseneck allows for easy positioning. The mounting clamp features dampening materials to eliminate extraneous vibration, impact, and handling noise. The e 908 B features a locking miniature 3.5mm connector for use with EW series beltpack transmitters; however, the MZA 900 P cylindrical preamplifier is included and terminates to a standard 3-pin XLR connection, for direct connection to PA systems, consoles, and recording devices.

Sennheiser e 908 B Reviews

Worth every penny!

I am an experienced musician moving towards going professional. I hung this mic on my Selmer Super Action 80 tenor sax and was very impressed. I played it through my Bose L1 Compact. My teacher who performs regularly agreed that it was professional quality. He appears on television regularly. What interested me particularly is that the mic has a dual personality. It can be wired or made wireless with ease. I bought the wired set up, which you need to be wired, but know if I go on, I'll likely need to get the wireless equipment. Sennheiser is really accurate which I appreciate and not really that expensive.

Really lovely sound reproduction

I just got my Sennheiser e908b with the equipment to use the mike wired into a Bose T1 Tonemaster, run through a Bose L1 Compact PA. Really clear as a bell sound, which is what you want. It didn’t sound limited by the mic. I wanted to avoid that. Will ultimately go wireless. I’m not a professional, yet. Been playing saxes for 3.5 years. Serious about sound. At this price point with the flexibility to go wired and wireless is a big advantage.
