Sennheiser HSP2 Reviews
Great mic. Bad connector
Pros: The bulk of the expense in this item is the microphone, and rightfully so it is amazing sounding. It does a fantastic job at picking up the speaker and the microphone arm is rigid enough for you to position it and it to stay where you want it. I can't express how annoying it is with other headmics with loser adjustments to loosen during a speaker and the mic to pivot 6 inches away from their mouth and in almost the opposite direction forcing the sound man to boost the signal which causes reverb and often feedback. So Sennheiser did the build quality of the frame right. Con: And this is the killer. The junction between the cable and the headset is the Achilles heel. It doesn't matter how good the microphone is, if the mini connector loses connection in the middle of speaking, it pops and clips the audio. It is not a screw on connection like a detachable cable should be. Instead, it is a snap on that allows the cable to swivel with the movement on the speaker (I see what they were trying to do, but not at the expense of potential loss in connection in the middle of speaking). I am truly shocked that Sennheiser would put so much effort into such a beautiful headset and completely overlook the connection possibilities.
will continue buying these!
