This is the 810746 Background Reflector with Slot for the Norman ML400, 600 Series Monolights. It produces a wash of light for your background. Its slot allows some of the light to be directed back to the subject as an accent light.

If you have a Norman ML400 or ML600 and want an effective way to get light on your background, then get one of these. Does exactly what it's supposed to. Good in compact studio settings where you don't have room to set up flags, etc., to keep the light from going were you don't want it to. Sturdy construction, but I wouldn't sit on it to test it out. This is actually my second one which I got to use with a second light to light backgrounds.
I ordered a second one to creatively solve some background lighting issues using my Norman ML-400 and ML-600 lights. It does a good job of directing light onto the background and preventing it from spilling over into the rest of the setup. Better alternative than using the standard reflectors that came with the Norman lights and flagging them, especially if you need a small and unobtrusive setup. Made from reasonably thick aluminum; seems very sturdy although I wouldn't make a habit of dropping it or accidentally sitting on it.
