The Panasonic GP-KS822CU is an NTSC-system camera control unit which works with the GP-KS822H camera head. The CCU is tethered to the camera head via a special cable. This unit controls iris, shutter, white balance, gamma, color matrix and other video parameters.
Video Functions
The GP-KS822CU is the CCU for the GP-KS822H, both of which operate in NTSC system video only. The control unit provides control over white balance, shutter, gain and other technical parameters. It also has a single button for freeze frame capture. A recent addition to the features is the mirror-image/rotate image function. If the camera is to be used as a rear-view instrument on a large SUV, limousine, or bus, the CCU can flip the image around as if it were a rear-view mirror. Industrial applications might require that the image be rotated for the best viewing angle.
Auto Sensing Selection
The CCU features a Sensing Area Selection function. This function has four image sensing patterns including ALL, Small, Wide and Auto Detection.
Versatile Output Signals
The GP-KS822CU has both Composite Video and S-Video outputs. The 4-pin S-video produces higher resolution images with well-balanced colors.
Other Functions
The CCU has a Brightness Control feature that maintains a constant video signal level by automatically controlling AGC and ELC functions. The ELC function continuously controls light coming into the CCD. The unit also has 2 white balance memory settings, Aperture level selection and manual white balance.
