Protect your investments with this 72mm PRO1 Digital Protector Filter from Hoya, which acts as the first line of defense for your lens. As a clear filter, it is designed to have no impact on your image quality and has no light loss. A digital multi-coating helps optimized image quality by preventing flash and ghosting while black rimmed glass minimizes the chances of edge reflections. Also, this filter has a low profile matte black aluminum frame with 72mm front filter threads and knurled sides. Additionally, it comes with a UV-protected filter case.

Clear filter offers general protection for your lens.
Does not require adjustments to exposure while in use.
Digital multi-coating prevents internal ghosting and reflections.
Creates no additional coloration or contrast.
General protection filter reduces dust, moisture, and scratches from reaching lens elements.
Thin, lightweight aluminum-alloy almite filter ring helps to prevent vignetting and reflections.
Black rimmed glass limits edge reflections.
Knurled sides provide a more textured grip when mounting or removing it from a lens.
72mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters.
UV-protected plastic case for storage and transport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and Clean I use it as a lens protector for my Nikon 18 - 200 vr lens. I was using a UV filter from my old film camera and this is much cleaner in my photos. I like the thin mounting ring that still has threads for the lens cap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I get one for every lens Lenses are expensive, and scratched lens degrade quality. I buy a clear filter for every lens I own, and the Hoya DMC Pro filters are , to my eyes, clearly the best. They protect without introducing flare or other problems of their own. I love that the frames are so thin (as is the glass) and black on the inside. Everything about them is perfect. They protect and introduce no problems of their own. I would never use a lens without a protective filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hit the concrete... I don't normally write reviews about many things I purchase, takes too much time. But I thought I would add that I just dropped this filter onto a concrete floor (fumbled it while cleaning it) and it bounced. That's all. Screwed right back on my lens, no warpage, no cracks. I've always thought this filter was great, now I know why.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You need this. Installed on my lenses for protecting the front cover from dust, fingerprints, etc. Thoroughly tested in Lower Antelope Canyon in Page, AZ. Guide scattered dust, micro-gravel into the air to highlight the sunlight coming down the canyon. It rained the dirt all over my lenses! These protected my FL lenses completely, and did not scratch themselves which was surprising given the volume and composition of the dirt/gravel/sand. No additional flaring observed, even with sun on the front of the filter. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Hoya Quality This is the typical Hoya clear filter with superb clear glass and excellent multicoating. The threads flow smoothly into the lens and sit snugly once attached. They do seem to be a little harder to clean than my other non-Hoya filters, but nothing a Lenspen doesn't take care of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from would spend my money on it again... confident in the protection that this filter provides for my lense, and it was a reasonable price to pay to do so. a little hard to get on and off but since this kind of filter is for protection, it's not a constant problem. works fine with my lens hood, as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A quality investment in protection Filters are great to provide a sense of confidence when out in the elements without something appropriate to clean a lens. Cheap insurance with a quality that does not degrade the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Protection High Quality, Low Cost protection for an expensive lens. I never go without a protective filter and this one is tops in every way.
