Toshiba 52HM95 Overview

The Toshiba 52HM95 52" 16:9 DLP TV is an Integrated Digital Micro-Mirror Device (DMD) based projection TV with a CableCARD Slot. Toshiba has left almost nothing off the feature list for you to wish for, it's all here. The large tasteful silver cabinet with black bezel combine to frame the picture beautifully and make this big screen TV a delightful focus of any room decor. 40 Watts of total audio power driving four separate woofers and tweeters delivers great sound quality.

A powerful, QuickRestart DC lamp with two selectable wattage levels projects an intense light through a rapidly rotating, multi-segment color wheel. The color wheel is mounted on the same type of ultra-reliable, longed-lived and precise motor used by computer disk drives. The TALEN 720p Light Engine with DEEP Picture is a DLP which produces a bright, beautiful, high-resolution, deep contrast image in a display that is lighter and thinner than conventional CRT-based projection TVs.

This TV has HDMI inputs for perfect digital picture quality. HDMI is a single-wire solution that will free you from ugly, tangled and messy nests of audio and video cables snaking behind your entertainment center.

There remains little difference these days between computer and television technologies; the built-in OmniViewer SD, MM, MS, CF and SM card slots transform the Toshiba 52HM95 into a multimedia machine providing remotely controlled photo display of your treasured memories (in JPEG format) stored on digital camera card media.

ATSC Integrated Tuner
If you live close enough to the broadcast transmission towers serving your city, a simple indoor or outdoor antenna will facilitate over-the-air reception of digital broadcasts from your local television stations using the ATSC integrated tuner.
CableCARD Slot
Helping to declutter your home entertainment center, this TV is Digital Cable Ready (DCR). If you are a cable subscriber using a set-top box you can request a CableCARD from your provider. The CableCARD is inserted into the TV's rear panel CableCARD slot. After standard or high-definition service is activated with your cable TV company, the decoding smart card eliminates any need for the cable box.
OmniViewer Memory Card Slots
Do not crowd the family around a digital camera or computer monitor to squint at the holiday photos! View your digital masterpieces in JPEG format from the comfort of a sofa and enjoy those captured moments on your big screen television using SD, MM, MS, CF or SM media.
HD2+ DLP Chip
The new Plus version of the Texas Instruments DLP chip fills in the dimples, or vias, in the mirrors to avoid stray light, and increases both brightness and contrast. The HD2+ also utilizes double mirror speed for a 9-bit system that significantly reduces any dithering noise.
Radiance 150 Hi-Bright Lamp
This DC lamp features both High Brightness and Low Power Modes. Choose High Brightness Mode for daytime viewing under ambient room lighting conditions, or Low Power Mode for nighttime viewing in a darkened room. Low Power Mode can also extend lamp life. This lamp also has a unique Instant Restart feature, allowing the TV to be turned back on immediately after shutdown without the time-out required by competing lamp based televisions.
Dual High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI)
A single cable carries both high-quality digital audio and video. HDMI is the only interface that can deliver uncompressed high-definition video plus multichannel audio in all formats.
TheaterFine Digital Fine Pitch (DFP) Screen
The TheaterFine screen helps create crisp HD resolution with its super fine pitch. It also has an Anti-Glare Coating to reduce unwanted reflections from ambient room light, increasing contrast for deeper blacks.
CableClear DNR+
CableClear DNR+ optimizes bad NTSC signals coming from the antenna or cable eliminating video noise ("snow") for a cleaner and crisp image.
PixelPure Adaptive Technology (AT)
PixelPure AT includes Motion Adaptive De-Interlacing, Adaptive MPEG Processing, Adaptive Contrast Enhancement, and Adaptive Color Enhancement, special circuitry to eliminate visible motion artifacts and deliver a consistently clear video image.
HD Window POP
Did you ever want to split the screen and watch two channels at once? Now you can view two perfect videos of equal size side by side simultaneously, even if one is HD and the other is not. The MultiWindow system shows you up to nine mini pictures to choose from to put into the second channel while you continue to view the main picture in a large POP box from Favorite Channels.
TheaterNet Icon IR/1394 Control System
The TheaterNet control system simplifies access to your other equipment such as high definition disk recorders or D-VHS machines connected through both the IEEE1394 ports and IR jacks. You get easy to read menus and on-screen graphic prompts making the operation of connected components quick and easy.
Two Component Video Inputs
See the quality you paid for. These inputs are for analog high definition from your cable or satellite box, as well as DVD or other standard definition devices. YPbPr component connections achieve greater color accuracy than composite and S-Video when connecting to compatible devices such as 480p DVD players and 480i videogame consoles.
V-Chip Parental Control System
Parents can prevent children from viewing programs which might be inappropriate with the help of V-Chip technology. Use password protection to block or allow shows based on ratings systems. Interactive Program Guide provides an easy to read eight-day program listing of the shows available to view or record. You can perform keyword searches for locating favorite programs. When recording television programs, the name of the show, along with the channel and date, are automatically captured.
SRS WOW
SRS WOW consists of three separate sound expanding systems working together to extract "buried" highs and lows. SRS 3D creates a three dimensional sound field from just two speakers. TruBass produces a powerful low frequency sound utilizing psychoacoustic effects technology. FOCUS directs speaker energy from the television set up towards the listener's ears.
StableSound
StableSound automatically equalizes volume levels so there is consistent output between program segments and channels.
Closed Captioning On Mute
This feature automatically turns on the closed captions (if available) when the audio MUTE button is pressed. The captions then disappear when the sound volume is restored. Without ever having to hunt for the Caption menu, all you have to do is tap one button to mute the volume and you can instantly follow the action silently, reading the dialog presented by the captions on-screen.
