The JVC DT-V100CGU is a compact and affordable 10-inch color production monitor designed for professional video applications. The unit comes standard with Composite Video inputs but Component Video and SDI cards are available optionally. The monitor is very easy to use and there is a front panel jog-controller for navigating the menu system quickly. There are tally lamps that do triple duty as a power-on indicator and HD/SD indicator. This model can be rack mounted and a rack mount kit is another optional accessory.
HDTV and Multi-Format Capabilities
The DT-V100CGU is compatible with all major DTV formats from NTSC, PAL as well as standard definition and HDTV video for professional video applications. In addition to NTSC and PAL systems, the monitor will decode 1080/60i, 1080/59.94i, 1080/50i, 1080/24-fps, 1080/23.98-fps, 720/60p, 720/59.94p, 720/50p, 480/59.94i and 576/50i.
Optional Video Boards
The monitor comes standard with Composite Video inputs/outputs along with Sync, control and tally connectors. For higher quality video there are a couple optional input cards. The IF-C151HDG provides connectors for HD/SD-SDI. This board also places audio level meters (for the embedded audio in the SDI signal) right on the screen. Analog audio outputs (RCA connectors) are also present on this board. The other optional board, IF-C101CMG provides connectors for Component Video (3-BNC) input and output.
Widescreen Mask
The DT-V100CGU has a conventional 4:3 CRT as do most CRT monitors. But this unit is fully capable of displaying 16:9 images correctly. A widescreen mask comes standard with the monitor and it will display the widescreen area correctly. The monitor has frame-line markers for safe-zones in the widescreen mode including 14:9, 13:9 and 4:3 areas.
