Omega Super Chromega F Overview

The Omega Super Chromega F is a 10" x 10" enlarger used in thousands of professional labs worldwide. It is known as a workhorse of the commercial lab industry, often working three shifts at a time and requiring very little maintenance.

The Super Chromega F's evenly distributed light works as well with color materials as with black and white or variable contrast papers. 98" high quadruple aluminum column attached to welded steel base is heavy and massive to assure vibration-free performance of the enlarger.

To eliminate another potential source of vibration, the cooling fan was designed as a separate unit connected to the lamphouse by a venting hose. The enlarger can be moved around the lab on heavy casters that can be locked in position with the ball-joint type leveling pads.

NOTE: This item contains a Chromega Chassis and 24" x 32" baseboard. It does not include a head, power supply, lens or negative carriers.

A large hand crank raises or lowers the counterbalanced lamphouse assembly quickly and easily. The same function can be performed by an optional, push button remote control accessory.
Main film stage accepts a simple, book-type universal glass negative carrier for film sizes up to 10" x 10". This unit can be rotated 180°. Four-way, individually adjustable masks enable masking of the negative down to 4" x 5", with pre-calibrated settings.
Dichroic filters offer the greatest filtration range (0-170) ever acheived in 8x10" dichroic filtration systems. Filtration settings are numerically displayed on large, illuminated "drum" scales, and marked in increments of .05cc for precise control and repeatability.
Built-in infrared filters, mounted in entrance ports to the mixing chamber, are designed to reduce advese effects.
Lamphouse equipped with four 250watt quartz halogen lamps with built-in reflectors, ensuring uniform illumination over the full 10" x 10" opening, and permitting shorter exposure times. Lamps will not blacken with age. Light output and color temperature remain constant throughout the lamp's operating life (approx. 50 hours).
Light intensification masks available as accessory.
Complete set includes masks for:
6cm  x 7cm
4" x 5" and,
5" x 7" formats,
which fit into the slide in drawer (in place of the 10" x 10" opal diffuser) at the bottom of the lamphouse.
White light lever.
Thermostat in lamphouse automaticallty turns off all four lamps if the inside temperature exceeds 130°F. Normal operation resumes when temperature cools to approx. 100°.
Power relay is specifically designed to enable photographic timer to automatically switch electrical loads up to 1000watt, removing the electrical load from the timer and preventing timer overload. It must be used with timers rated below 1000watt in conjunction with the Dichroic Lamphouse.
Built-in safety features prevent overheating of the lamphouse and makeovers due to lamp failure. Three windows on the front of the power supply indicate lamp failure.
