The Sanyo PLC-XU48 is a portable, high resolution with 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness multimedia projector. Just a bit larger than a laptop, weighs just 5.9 pounds and delivers true XGA picture quality in a versatile, go anywhere system. Also may be ceiling or inverse mounted for enhanced versatility.
Other features include 1.2x optical zoom lens with 16x digital zoom, progressive scan with 3-2 pulldown technology, black board mode for projecting onto dark surfaces, PIN code lock for settings security, user specified start up screen, and variable audio out.
Separate RGB Panels for Faithful Color Reproduction
The projector employs three 0.79-inch polysilicon Thin Film Transistor (TFT) LCD panels for projection of true XGA (1024 x 768) resolution, for an impressive total of 2,359,296 pixels. Light from the lamp is divided into the three primary colors, RGB, which are projected onto separate panels and then combined to create images with high color fidelity.

Sanyo's original Digital Realized Interpolation Technology (DRIT) enhances projected images, even if the resolution of the input signal differs from that of the LCD panels. Whether compressing SXGA input signals or decompressing VGA input signals, DRIT renders your on-screen images with stunning fidelity.
10 Bit Digital Gamma Correction
In addition to Standard mode, Cinema mode for movies and Real mode for graphics, there are four user-settable gamma correction preset modes, so you can adjust gradation to suit your preference and screen conditions.
3D AUCC
The 3D Automatic Uniformity Correction Control (AUCC) circuit ensures a uniform projected image, balancing uneven color and brightness gradations for more natural image displays.
Progressive Scan
A progressive scan circuit ensures superb, high-resolution video images.
Keystone Correction
To compensate for keystone (trapezoidal) picture distortion, the projector provides vertical keystone correction with a correction range up to +/-20 degrees.
Fan Control
The intelligent fan operation linear control system reduces cooling fan noise according to change in temperature.
Switchable Terminal
This projector has a switchable, D-sub 15 analog I-O terminal capable of receiving an additional input or driving an external monitor or another projector.
Blackboard Mode (Green color) Mode
For more effective presentations in rooms with dark-surfaced walls (i.e.: green boards), the projector features Blackboard Mode, which adjusts white balance and
gamma correction automatically to project an intelligible image without a screen.
Digital and Optical Zooms
Along with a 1.2x optical zoom/focus, the PLC-XU48 projector features 1/2 to 16x digital zoom that allows you to easily enlarge or reduce the screen display size.
Security Functions
The PIN code lock function prevents others from operating the projector without inputting the correct PIN code. The key lock function, which is set from the operation menu, locks the operation of the top control and remote control buttons.
Freeze Function
The Freeze function allows you to pause projected images and display them as still images
User Logo
With the User Logo function, you can customize a start-up screen using captured images or logos.
No Show
The No Show function lets you temporarily stop displaying the projected image, so the audience's attention can be focused on the presenter rather than the screen. You can also show your user logo instead of the projected image.
Dimmer Function to Optimize Lamp Brightness
In addition to Normal mode and Eco mode, the PLC-XU48 projector offers Auto mode. Auto mode adjusts lamp brightness in response to the video signal to ensure high contrast for rich, deep blacks.
Presentation Timer
Use the Presentation Timer to show a running clock on the display screen.
