Helping to balance exposures within a scene, this 2-stop, 4 x 5.65" MPTV Soft-Edge, Horizontal Orientation Graduated ND Filter from Schneider is ideally suited for situations involving both bright and dark areas, such as an open sky and shadowed foreground. Half of the filter is clear and the other half has 0.6 neutral density, with a soft-edged transition between the two that is ideally suited for use with medium and wide-angle lenses. This filter also has a horizontal orientation, with the density's edge running parallel to the long edge of the filter. By reducing the exposure in selective areas, you are able to balance the overall exposure of the scene in order to gain detail in both bright and dark areas.
