How secure is the fit? I assume this works when suspended, such as hanging from a boom arm, but I've certainly been wrong before. Anyone else using it that way?
Asked by: Mark
It should work fine for that purpose.

Could this be used to hold a yeti mic?

Could this be used to hold a yeti mic?
Asked by: Kayla
To Daniel (Staff): My recollection of the Yeti is that it is a fairly light modern condenser mic in a typical studio-style side address form. I do not have one here to handle it, but I can say that we these particular quick disconnect mounts on Shure KSM32’s, Neumann TLM103’s, AKG 414’s, AudioTechnica 4050’s, Sennheiser MK4’s, and other moderate sized side address studio-style condensers without any issues. Although the latter mics on that list are modern and lightweight, the first few are quite heavy. We use them in the orchestra pit for theater.

Can I use it as a replacement for my rode boompole pro thread? The plastic part was broken and I hadn’t notice Until the warranty expired. It must be strong enough to carry an ntg3 and a rode blimp. If this doesn’t fit, do you know where I can get some spare parts?
Asked by: Cristian
This unit is not designed to replace the thread on that boom pole. For a possible replacement part, you could try calling at Rode at (562) 364-7400. If they cannot offer a replacement part, we would recommend looking to purchase a new boompole. Here's a suggestion B&H # KTKE89CC.

Is this an all-metal or plastic build? Thanks.

Is this an all-metal or plastic build? Thanks.
Asked by: Roan
Both of the two interlocking pieces are made of cast metal. The metal spring loaded quick release pin is also made of solid metal as is the silver 5/8" threaded locking ring collar. These units are very well made and they should last a very long time.

question

Can I use this quick release adapter for the mic stand boom attachment as well? Or will it only work with the mic clip? Thanks!
Asked by: Patrick
Yes you can i m using a couple of them between a keyboard stand and the boom arm. There is about an inch movement left to right at the microphone depending on how far you extend the boom where the two parts of the quick release join.
