Cuts most stage microphonic sounds
This is a fairly low tech item that dampens stage microphonic effects due to vibration sounds being transported to the microphone through the stand. I would estimate it dampens about 3/4 of the sound out. For instance, I recording a live stage recording where the talent was singing on stage, and then doing a dance. With a standard Mic clip the dancing sound was overly pronounced from the mic. Using this Shock mount the sound was dampened by over half making the scene usable as far as sound goes. If you want to dampen all the sound you will need a Rycote shock mount and it will likely take close to all of this sound out. That said the cost of those mounts are roughly four to five times the cost. For my purposes this works quite well. Also to note, the clamping power for the mic itself is quite sufficient and intuitively simple to use. Recommended.
Shock mount to boot.
I don't think you can have too many of these devices, they always get lost or borrowed. And to have a shock mount to boot adds to the value.
