The Portacom Procom 40 is a four-user full duplex wireless intercom system ideal for applications in theater, broadcasting, and industry. It includes four each of the HSW-300 headset, BPW-300 wireless beltpack, and AC-300 power adapter. It also includes one deluxe carrying case.
The BPW-300s communicate with each other directly without a base station at a range of up to 400 feet. Patent pending technology allows two users to communicate while an unlimited number of users listen. During a break in the conversation, another user may jump in, but no more than two users may communicate on the same channel at a given time.
Users can be divided into 15 user groups for multiple conversations. An "all call" feature lets a single user override all channels and speak to every user on the system. The units use 2.4 GHz transmission, which allows worldwide, license-free use. User selectable encryption allows users to protect the privacy of the conversations.
The HSW-300 headsets have a single-ear design, allowing the user to remain aware of his or her surroundings. The cushioned earcup fits fully around-the-ear for great comfort, and the padded, adjustable headband ensures a proper fit. They also have an electret condenser microphone on a flexible gooseneck boom for precise positioning. A 3.5 foot cable that connects to the beltpack allows it to be placed almost anywhere on the body with just the right amount of slack.
