The Sony DSBK-1505 is the optional accessory board that provides analog input. This is the replacement for the DSBK-1504 and has all the same specifications. The board allows for composite and Y/C video (and two channels XLR audio) input to this VTR. This board is for the DSR-1500A NTSC VTR only. A firmware upgrade for all early DSR-1500As with serial numbers prior to 120001 is required. Contact your local Sony service center for information.

I put it inside my DSR-1500A and it fits perfectly - amazing! And it does what it's supposed to do - fantastic. It's like my recorder is turrrrbo-charged now. By the way, it also works fine with my DSR-1500AP, so you don't have to buy DSBK-1505P at twice the price - because in fact it's the same card - even the manual in the DSBK-1505 says you can use it for both DSR-1500A and DSR-1500AP.

Does this board enable the recording of component 1080i input?
Sorry, this board only works with the Sony Sony DSR-1500A and that deck is SD, not HD.
