The Paterson Major Focus Finder works in principle like the Paterson Micro Focus Finder, but its taller 14" height lets you manipulate enlarger controls more comfortably, even at high magnifications.

I enjoy the height for focusing on the grain. I found it to be a little unstable.

I've used one for years. It remains accurate and hasn'tneeded any tuning or adjusting for me. I enjoy the heightof the viewing optic as it keeps you somewhat upright formost magnifications, it's also bright and easy to find thegrain structure to focus with. It's a bit tippy but I don'tbelieve I've ever knocked it over and a careful workershould have a similar experience. Expertise: Serious amateur Problems Encountered: Nothing that I recall. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: Magnasite, also the small non-branded scopes.
