Storage Box for 40 35mm Slides is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Storage Box for 40 35mm Slides by Pakon Nice little storage boxes for 2x2 slides or envelopes or anything else. VERY hard rigid plastic and VERY tight fit of the top to the bottom which makes it hard to open the box once the top is in place. It's actually difficult to pry open with your fingers - no grip spot or gap to work with. The top slips down inside the lip edge of the bottom portion and it might be easier to open if the top closed *outside* the edge of the bottom instead, or perhaps if it wasn't quite such a tight fit. Or maybe if the plastic wasn't quite so hard and rigid, a little softer or more flexible. Not easy to find small legacy slide storage boxes so these will do OK for the job and the price is right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for slide storage I have no complaints about these boxes. They hold slides. They are decent looking. Nice snug lids. I saw that others had complained about the lids being so tight. I want tight lids - don't need carefully organized slides spilling all over the place. Like some others, I wish that the bar code sticker were easier to remove. On my boxes, it at least was on the side but removing it took way too much effort (gunk off and then washing). I had 40 boxes and a deadline for getting slides organized and shipped for scanning. I did not have time to degunk 40 boxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product, simple, but perfect I have a project with over 5000 slides I am scanning, and these boxes have taken a nightmare, and helped make it an organized project. The boxes take a label well, and they stack great. It is amazing how much less space they take than the huge boxes I had. They are simple, but well made, and they work well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Exact Fit! Many years ago I tossed the cardboard boxes in which my processed slides arrived and moved the slides into plastic sleeves (mostly non-archival, arrrgh). Now I'm sending many of these slides out to be scanned and need containers for those slides that will protect them during transportation. These Pakon boxes seem to be the best choice out there. There are archival cardboard boxes available but they are $$$$. The only downside I've bumped into is the slightly asymmetrical size of the boxes. They really want the slide loaded into the box vertically, not horizontally. They will hold a few more slides that way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and nicely sized These will hold about 50 cardboard mounted slides. The lid is a snug fit but not difficult to remove or put on. My only real complaint was that in the batch I purchased most recently the UPC sticker was stuck to the top of the transparent lid. It's a white paper sticker, and very difficult to remove (I had to soak the lids in warm soapy water for an hour or two, periodically scraping with my fingernail, then finally clean each lid with rubbing alcohol and a cloth). The previous batch had the UPC stickers on the side of the black box, which was better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked out great I bought these to organize about 1300 slides before sending them off for scanning. I chose these because of the great ratings here and because I wanted to organize the slides in relatively small groupings. I organized my slides by date (month/year) and put them in 36 of these boxes with anywhere from about 25-50 slides in a box. I was initially concerned that having so many boxes would add a lot of extra bulk and be annoying when it came time for storing these (assuming I choose to keep them after digitizing them?) but the boxes are not bulky and are light weight. Also, you can't beat the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good plastic box. Bad stock label. These boxes are as advertised. They will hold 40 slides or more if you crowd them. The lids fit tight. And the price is excellent. BUT: they come with a paper stock label (bar code and stock number) which does not want to peel off, and which (inexplicably) is attached to the top of the clear lid, obscuring what view there might be of the contents! If I can figure out how to get these labels off without too much effort (I bought 40 of these things!), I'll be happy. Otherwise, I'll use them anyway and hide them in a closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pakon 35mm slide boxes I now have 70 of these boxes. I have a massive project of scanning, editing and saving 20 years of slides from the late 60s into the 80s on to my computer...then to disks (mostly DVDs). I've been consolidating slides from trays, paper boxes, and vinyl pages. These boxes make my job very easy to manage. I use small pieces of foam to keep the slides upright when storing less than 20. The clear tops can be a little snug... but I consider this a plus. I may need to order 20+ more.
