I am looking to get back into film photography ...
I am looking to get back into film photography and was wondering if, in a completely dark internal room, if this light could be used to remove exposed film and use the Paterson film developing tank?
The Paterson Darkroom Safelight with Red A-Dome Filter is not used for film. It used for when processing most black and white darkroom paper to make prints.

question
Im setting up a home darkroom. I have a convenient place for my enlarger, which is in a cabinet and the door can close on it. Would this be a good safe light for that area, attached it to the swing open door? I'm also going to attach a GraLab timer to the door to operate the enlarger and safelight. Also is the red light cover ok for using with RC , VC paper. Also what would be recommended for a safelight over the developing tray area? When I did this a long time ago, I remember only using a red safelightThank you for your time
for simple work it should be fine. A lot of the timers have an additional socket where you can actually connect your safelight. This would sync perfectly between your exposures and the paper development. Note, this is not at all suitable for film !!! It will take normal 15W bulbs that you can buy at any hardware store and you will not need to worry about visibility. In a small area (6'6 X 6'6 ) it is more than enough. Good luck

question
can you get the safelight lamp anywhere?
These days it's hard to tell, especially with the current switching of all incandescent lamps to LED's; by the time your bulb eventually burns out who knows what will be available. To be on the safe side, I ordered an extra lamp with it. B & H lists it under accessories for 6.50. That should have you covered for quite some time; always good to keep a spare on hand. Hope that helps.

question
What are the specs of the replacement bulbs?
They are a European type bulb and difficult to find in Canada. Checked numerous suppliers with no luck. Ended up buying a whole new lamp.
