Photogenic Rectangular Softbox Reviews
Assembly nightmare !
After 5 years, I finally learned how to put this thing together. I'ts not that bad if you take the badly written instructions that are now online with a grain of salt. First you have to connect all 4 metal rods to the speedring. Only insert the 4 rods where there is a raised letter 'S' on the speed ring. Ignore all the other holes ! The trick is to connect the outer silk baffle to the metal rods in this order: 1 then 3, then 2 then 4. Again make sure you only inserted the 4 rods where there is a raised letter 'S' on the speed ring, or your softbox is going to look lopsided. Once all the rods are attached to the outer baffle and the speedring, you can begin to slip the vinyl black cover over the curved rods until it reaches the velcro of the outer baffle. Dont' worry about the rods bending, they won't break ! Connect the outer baffle velcro to the vinyl-cover velcro and there you have it. It should take no longer than 15 minutes. I would mark the holes on the speed ring with colored magic marker as well as the mounting holes on the outer baffle to make things easier for future assemble, dis-assembly.
Great Well Made product
My only issue is that it is too heavy for my light to hold it up and there isn't any additional mount adaptor to attach to mine that will keep it from falling forward. I plan to buy a smaller one and hope it works
