Photogenic AKC320B Overview

The Photogenic StudioMax III Constant Color Monolight offers a full six f/stop power range over 320 watt/seconds. It has internal control to ensure the same Kelvin temperature output, no matter what level of output is chosen.

This light is an excellent choice as a main, secondary, or background light. Since it accepts the entire line of the PowerLight reflectors, grids, snoots, and diffusers, the StudioMax III is a good investment.

This monolight is capable of operating with its optional battery pack, for working outdoors away from AC power.

I have been using this model for my second and third strobes. They work perfect, are super easy to adjust, are plenty bright and if need be are portable with the battery pack. My main light is the photogenic1000 which works with these very well as a set and all the softbox mounts are the same so I can switch between each light with little effort.

So far so good

I bought these lights as a sterter kit to get my portrait studio off the ground. So far I like them a lot. These are my first lights and they were easy to put together and operate, also the manual that comes with them is very easy to understand and helpfull for the novice photographer!

I have a Photogenic Powerlight 600 will the light modifiers like the barn doors fit on this unit/

If you own barndoors and/or other light accessories designed for the Photogenic Powerlight system for your Powerlight PL600 monolights, then yes, they would also be compatible for use with the Photogenic StudioMax III Constant Color 320 W/S Monolights in the above kit.

GN170?? Seems incredible, what are real world exposures 10ft @ ASA100?

Guide number divided by the distance from light to subject gives you your F stop using ISO 100.So GN170/ 10' =F17 rounded to F16.Adjust fstop up or down depending on ISO you're using.
