Melodyne uno is a program from Celemony that analyzes the pitch and time of monophonic audio files from sources such as singers, wind or string instruments, and offers the opportunity to change whole melodies in a way previously only possible with MIDI data. The software is able to change the musical parameters of voices or instruments without any actual influence on the character of the recording.
By dispensing with the multi-track arrange window of the larger versions of the Melodyne family, Melodyne uno offers the same technology in a compact and affordable format. The software operates like a normal sample editor - the user loads in a file, edits it, saves and it's done.
Melodyne uno also offers two highly useful operating aids. The Correct Pitch and Quantize Time macros. The Correct Pitch macro allows for correcting the pitch of out-of-tune notes and eliminating ugly pitch drift from a recording with two mouse clicks. The Quantize Time macro offers a quick and convenient a way of correcting timing errors, notably notes that sound too late or too soon or are held too long or not long enough.
