Developed as the optimal missing link between MADI devices of any manufacturer, RME's MADI Bridge is simultaneously a patch bay, distributor, signal buffer and input selector. Up to sixteen MADI devices can be freely connected with each other. The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate making the device easy to understand and to operate.
All input signals are routed unaltered to the desired outputs. The unit supports any format, no matter if it is 56 or 64 channels or includes special invisible control commands, at any sample rates and even out-of-spec data rates or violations of the MADI protocol. A special equalizing and highly sensitive input stage allows coaxial cable lengths of 100m to be used, even between several devices.
Eight alpha-numeric LEDs on the front panel display the current signal source for every output separately. With two push buttons per channel, any signal source can be quickly changed. An output can be fed by any input and multiple outputs even by the same input. This way the device can be used as a distributor.
Six coaxial BNC inputs and outputs each, two optical inputs and outputs and two MIDI jacks on the rear of the unit offer superior flexibility. The MADI Bridge is also compatible with MADI interfaces from Sony, Merging, Lawo, Euphonix, Stagetec, Jünger, Audio Service, Soundtracs, AMS and others.
