This is a must-have for production audio, which I thought was a bad thing, but this slate is amazing and really makes an impression on everyone on set.The construction is really solid and the operation is fairly simple to get it going. Stays in sync with my 633 for several hours without having to re-jam, and the backlight makes it easy to slate in dark conditions, which are more and more common with digital productions. The price seems a little high for what it is, and the instructions that come with it are a little hard to follow. There is a video on their website that is much clearer. I suggest watching it.

question

Can the back lit display be turned off when I don't need it?
Asked by: Ben C.
Yes. The settings for brightness are high, medium, and low. The back light is only on when the illumination setting is low.
