Cavision PWA042X72 Overview

The Cavision PWA042X72 is a wide-angle combination lens kit. This kit consists of two industrial wide-angle adapters that alone offer a 0.7x or 0.6x wide-angle shot. When combined they offer 0.42x wide-angle capability. The combination will reproduce an image with 58% wider parameters than the main camera lens.

Note:

May not work on DSLR lenses without macro focus control.

Universal Design

This combination kit was universally designed to fit lenses with a 72mm filter thread.

Multiple Options

Utilizing the equipment in this kit alone the user can have 0.42x or 0.6x wide-angle capability. With a size adapter, a 0.7x capability is possible.

Wanted the extra field of view for my new Sony AX1 4K video. The standard 30-600 was not quite enough. This screws right on Sony lens and really opens up the view. It is no f stop loss and very bright. Comes with nice carry case. It is not light and they recommend you remove adaptive lens during transport. Reduces focal length to .1 foot which I have not confirmed. I have not tried separating the adapter into the two pieces, I like the max wide. Not cheap but I do believe it will be worth it in short order. Speaking of order it took almost a month for delivery.

How is barrel distortion controlled in this adapter? Is it significant or minimal?

This is a high quality item that should have minimal barrel distortion present when used with the proper camera and lens.

Will this work for Dslr lenses?

This is a Wide Attachment Lens meant to go on to a camcorder with a lens built in already. It is not designed to work with DSLR cameras or the lenses they use and we do not recommend it.
