Works loose in use

I expected a Rycote branded component would be well constructed, but this is more on the level of a 14 year old's metal shop first project. I had to use epoxy to keep the rail from coming loose on the post. But then the post works loose from the cold show, resulting in me having to re-tighten it frequently during shoots.

It's fine, gets the job done

I needed something to attach two wireless packs to my C300 in a way that I could still use the handle. It worked, but the screws came a little lose after a few hours of shooting. It's sturdy, but the knobs are plasticky feeling. For $ it's fine.

Good results, but bends with weight and bounces

This was perfectly easy to use, but with the weight of a heavy-ish OLED 7 monitor, the light weight metal bends considerably, and with sudden camera moves the monitor bounces noticeably - but for the price it performed satisfactorily.

Total Junk

I don't even give this one a single star. The review process requires that you give it at least 1 star. It's flimsy, will not tighten to the hot shoe, and will not tighten to itself to keep it straight. I try to always write honest reviews on my equipment so I guess the bad comes along with the good at times. Sent this one back as it was not worthy to be in my bag. Also, and this is not their fault, but the Canon GPS receiver will not fit in this product. The hot shoe attachment on the GPS is too long to fit between the grooves. This is most likely true of all cold shoe extensions.

The NEW Panasonic HCX1000 does not have female screw mounts in the handle as many panasonic many cameras usually do. I needed to find a way to mount my wireless receiver so it would be sturdy and functional. I bought this shoe extension because if its size I mounted the shoe and my wireless receiver fits perfectly to the right of on-camera lighthowever like other reviews the shoe extension becomes slightly loose so I added some velcro for extra safety and once I get around to it I will try to add some lock nut washers to the tie downs other than that its a fine item for it is and cost

This does what I want it to. Its all plastic, thought it would be a little more durable. Good for mounting 2 devises, anything beyond that it likely to much

The cold shoe adapter is gold-plated metal and the extension bar portion is heavy-duty plastic.

question

Does the bar swivel or is it always parallel to the film plane? I want a shoe mounted bar that can be parallel and also turn 90 degrees.
Asked by: Thomas O.
The bar swivels by slightly loosening the top screw. I use it to get my mic closer to the subject.
