A nice mount for light duty

I bought mine over 10 years ago. Haven't used it much lately, and the elastic is no longer stretchy, so I'd need to replace that first. But for my purposes, it was just the thing. But my purpose was unusual. I need to mount a Zoom H-2 recorder on a pole, and it picked up all the pole noise. So I put a hard rubber ball (handball or squash ball, I think) in the mount, a 1/4-20 bolt through the ball, and screwed the recorder mount on that. Perfect.

simple and inexpensive

Use for sure KSM44 Large Diaphragm Mic, and similar Mics. It is a simple basic sus mount. But there is too much surface area contact to mics. even though it is padded with a foam, there are some low mid vibrations that can come through if one does not take precautions in home studio environment. appliances and trucks driving by can generate low freq in ground, frame and foundation. These can be compensated for with the right boom stand. I dont ike the risk with this on simple cheap mic stands. Way too much vibration. A high quality boom does the trick for me.

Do you recommend this Shock Mount for the Rode NT-USB?
Asked by: John
This shock mount will not accommodate the Rode NT-USB, because the diameter of the mic is too large. The appropriate shock mount for the Rode NT-USB is the Rode SMR Advanced Shock Mount for Large Diaphragm Condenser Mics, BH #ROSMRASM.

Will this fit my Behringer B2 Pro?

Will this fit my Behringer B2 Pro?
Asked by: Jeffrey
No, the Behinger B2 Pro Large Diaphragm Microphone has a diameter of 56mm and the On-Stage MY410 Studio Microphone Shock Mount is for use with microphones that have a diameter of 42 to 48mm. A compatible model is the On-Stage MY430 Shock Mount for Select Studio Microphones (B&H # ONMY430) which is designed to fit mics that have a diameter of 55 to 60mm.

question

Do I need this for a Yeti Blue mic?
Asked by: Anthony M.
The Blue Yeti microphone has an included desktop stand built right into the microphone itself, you would not need a shock mount for that particular model.
