Does this cable actually split the mics to Left/Right or mix?

Due to the gender configuration of the Hosa Technology Stereo Mini Angled Male to Two 3-Pin XLR Female Y-Cable, this cable is accepting two separate audio signals via its female XLR connections and summing them to the 3.5mm TRS connection at the other end of the cable. A similar cable with male XLR connections would facilitate a left/right split from the 3.5mm TRS to the XLR connections.
