Is the 1/4 a tip/ring or a tip/ring/sleeve?
This is a mono-to-mono adapter. The tip of the 1/4 is carrying the signal. The ground comes from the sleeve . If a stereo 1/4 is plugged into it the ring channel is dead. It is a good solid adapter.
