Gates white balance slate is like having a third arm to hold a white card in front of the lens. The card will allow you to calibrate your camera for true color balance when shooting video underwater. Use the other side for taking notes and camera settings. White balance should be checked whenever you change depth.
The slate arm has a Y connector, so it attaches to the housings handle along with a NiteRider arm.
