The Mac OS X V10.4 Tiger Software Family Pack is Apple's fifth major release of the OSX operating system. It includes innovations that continue to push performance and speed standards forward, including: the ability to run 64-bit and 32-bit applications side-by-side, the H.264 codec in QuickTime 7 that enables widescreen HD viewing and makes iChat AV videoconferencing more clear and sharp, Tiger Core Image which enables higher standards in image quality, a UNIX-based foundation that provides both power and accessibility to developers, and Xgrid which lets users share all of their processing resources as a supercomputer node.
Tiger also features improved compatibilty that enables users to plug in virtually any device or plug into any network. Spotlight is the new desktop search technology that finds anything on the computer instantly. The new Dashboard interface allows access to new mini-applications called widgets which are automated shortcuts for common tasks. The Automator interface enables users to expedite repetitive manual tasks without programming. .Mac Sync is now fully built in to Mac OS X Tiger preferences and users can synchronize information from applications to multiple Macintosh computers and a .Mac account seamlessly. And new Parental Controls allow parents to protect their children by controlling a wide range of system preferences and applications.
Mac OS X Tiger Family Pack provides Five License which allows upgrades for up to five Macs in a single household - at a price much lower than buying five separate licenses.
