Tamron 13FM Overview

Designed for 24-hour operation, the Tamron 13FG06IRSQ CS-mount lens utilizes an advanced infrared optical system to enhance overall image brightness and sharpness in lighting conditions ranging from ambient to near infrared and can be used as a low cost lens solution for both Day/Night and conventional B/W CCTV cameras. Additionally, the use of multi-coated glass elements eliminates ghosting and flare caused by adverse lighting conditions.

Infrared
Specially designed infrared glass elements ensure brighter and sharper corner to corner images in all lighting conditions.
Lock Mechanism
Employs a screw type mechanism to lock-in the focus and iris ring, preventing ring shifting once lens is installed and set.
Slip Mount
A built-in slip mount enables lens rotation, ensuring a correct iris reading based on the camera's position.

Very soft and not very sharp

I purchased this to use on a high speed camera to record golf swings. The image is very soft and not sharp when it's wide open using f1.2. Step down will improve it a bit but it defeats the purpose of buying a f1.2 lens. Will look into Tamron's more expensive MP lens.

This lens is great if you need a wide angle with superb light sensitivity for an extremely affordable price ! Sure its build quality can not match more expensive lenses. But it gets the job done and pretty well at that! Even nice for macro! If the camera is more than 1.3 megapixel this lens might not be ideal! I used it for machine vision applications.
