    Pelican 1620 reviews

1620 Case with Foam (Desert Tan) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 99.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Workhorse This pelican case has been a lifesaver. Traveling is no longer as much of a worry as it used to be. It fits far more than you would expect: Canon 7D Canon 300mm f/4 Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS Canon 500mm Space for three smaller wide angle lenses that I can switch out as I please Apple MacBook Pro Two portable hard drives An Induro Gimbal Head And room for at least two more lenses/camera bodies for my kit to grow. So, if you've got lots of camera equipment and a need to keep it safe, this case is for you! It's solidly built, roomy, and has a lifetime warranty. You can't go wrong with Pelican!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for URSA Obviously it's a Pelican case so it's great. But more specifically- the rubber clamshell case the blackmagic URSA comes in fits perfectly inside of this, taking up half of the case. That leaves room for the various other stuff in the other half. I keep my VCT-14 plate, 2 v-mount batteries, a follow focus, 18'' 15mm rails, hand grips, a shoulder pad, a tripod head, and some other stuff in the other half. Also: wheels. I'm too old for cases without wheels. In fact, I think everybody is. Get cases with wheels. Get this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! Pelican cases are industry standard for video professionals and our go-to for storing and transporting delicate equipment. The pluck and peel foam will eventually start to lose its hold over time and after constant rubbing from taking equipment in and out, depending on how tightly packed stuff is in there. That's easily fixable with super glue though if unintended pieces start to pop loose. The cases are fantastic though and I'd recommend them to anyone wanting to transport and store electronics or similar equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case! As expected from Pelican, this case meets my expectations. I already owned one 1720 and two Pelican 1700 cases, so I knew of the company's quality. I was looking for a case to keep emergency gear available and organized in my vehicle's trunk, so I tried the 1620. It is the right size at a great price. I removed the foam and put it aside for future use, and my emergency gear is now better protected than it would be in a bag. Satellite phone, water bottle with filtration device, first aid kit, flashlights, two-way radios, clean clothes etc... All fit snugly and safely in the 1620, and the expandable handle and wheels will make the case easy to move around, if needed. Another great product from Pelican!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Tank I have not traveled with this yet, I bought it to transport my pipe fitting tools. I was blown away by how sturdy this is. I can tell already, if you want something durable, buy a Pelican. I went with 1620, because the Pelican chart shows that for almost every airline this is the largest model that is classified normal checked luggage and not oversized.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Case This case is a great balance between weight and volume. I bought this to use as a shipping container for my Panasonic HPX 500 camera for airline travel. I created a space for the body, lens, and viewfinder, with an option to use a lower layer for a P2 reader, or battery charger. With it fully packed, it still weighs less than 23 kg which is the limit for checked baggage on most airlines. Normally, I try to carry-on these items, but with everything else I need to bring, it often needs to go as checked baggage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Protection Got this case for storing and transporting a professional video camera. It's very durable, strong, and keeps my camera equipment very secure from shock, humidity, and the elements. The pluck foam molds to my camera for a perfect fit, protecting it from any shock. Sturdy enough for a stool, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, priced right, great protection. We use this case to carry two laptops with power supplies, a digital camera with accessories, and related cables and equipment. It makes sense to spend a couple hundred dollars to protect more than $4000 of gear. The pick-n-pluck foam makes it easy to configure the case. Here's a hint: once you have the foam removed as desired for your equipment, use contact cement to glue the foam layers together for more solid support. The rollers and pull out handle complete the package, making it easy to transport. This is the third Pelican case I've bought this year, and it won't be the last. These things are practically bulletproof, and provide great protection at a reasonable price. Once configured and loaded it's not light, but the rollers and pull-out handle save your back.
