  • 1Description

Complementing the Backgrounds-in-a-Bag, this unique package will support seamless paper up to 11' in width, as well as accommodate the 12' width of the Backgrounds-in-a-Bag, or any brand of muslin background.

The system consists of 2 heavy-duty professional support stands with 3 positive locking levers and tubular legs, a sturdy 4 piece crossbar that snaps together with positive button locking devices, and a heavy-duty canvas carry bag.

It is suggested to secure the stands with gaffer tape, or weight bags when using any background setup where there are several people, or active children on the set.

Strong support for paper, or cloth backgrounds.
Crossbar may be used in 2 or 3 sections.

    Photek S-4010-4 reviews

Background Support System - 12' Wide is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 116.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice, Comes Recommended I went all over the web looking for recommendations for a portable background stand that could handle backgrounds at least 10' wide, and this one got lots of good reviews. The setup is great. It's solid and easy to put up, even by one person. I can put it up in just a minute or two. I particularly love the bag, which has each part in its own compartment, and folds up to fit into storage or my little Civic nicely. It does not come with clamps to hold a background without a hem. I bought some of those 2 pony clamps and those easily fit around the top pole. The 3 are huge and difficult to open with one hand. I'd get four of the 2 clamps to securely hold a 10' background. This is a very nice, portable background system. I would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, Easy Setup and Breakdown From the canvas case to the easy-lock extension tubes, the Photek Background Support is a great value for the money. I have no problem setting up 10' wide paper rolls; there's enough give that you can extend each side up about 3-4' before you adjust the other side, so while there's back-and-forth between the stands, it's not annoyingly incremental. The interlocking extension poles (there are 4) can all be used, or you can leave one out depending on your background width, making the system that much sturdier. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. If you're on the fence between this one and the other popular 'heavy duty' that costs 25% more--you can be confident with this support.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flimsy knobs I have set up and torn down the system about 20 times or so. In that time, two knobs on one of the stands have become stripped so that you can't tighten them. I never overtighten the knobs and and very careful when I pack the stands into the bag. I like the ease of setup and teardown but I've had to go to the hardware store and buy some wingnuts to replace the broken knobs. Other than that, I like the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support for any application The stand's two end support are great! The three legs come out nice and wide for great support. I haven't tried it outside, but I am guess if it was only light wind it would work great! The cross bar is HEAVY DUTY! I was not expecting it to be nearly as robust as it was for the cost, but it was more than expected. The only things I would have liked to have seen different on the stand would have been some height marks on the telescoping supports so you could more easily get the same height on each side. And the cross bar though super strong has only 4 3' sections, so your only options are 3', 6', 9' or 12'. Other than that I am extremely satisfied! The added carrying bag is a great touch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works okay... I've had this for over a year now.It works okay and as advertised. The carry case is a nice bonus... Expertise: Advanced amateur. Portrait Photography... Problems Encountered: Tightening levers on the stands need to be tightened well otherwise they will fall, even under no weight of a background. The studs on the top of mine either came bent, or bend to easily from weight, not sure which, so check when you get it.One thing I didn't realize when I bought this (My own fault) is that the sections aren't telescopic, so you have set widths and nothing else. The areas I use this in are usually a a few inches on the short side to fit with these set widths when the stands are set for maximum stability. Items I Recommend: The Bogen background kit with autopoles have a telescopic holder (as some others may) which may work out better for those in smaller areas...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Stand for Price I use this with 5' paper rolls and cloth backgrounds to do studio shots. I finally got tired of photoshopping backgrounds and this saves a ton of time. The stands are sturdy and the crossbar is easy to set up in different widths. It gets pretty big, higher than you can reach and wide enough for a big group. I was pleasantly surprised by the bag, which keeps each part in its own slot so they don't bang and scratch each other. I think if you use a heavy paper roll, it needs to be almost the same width as the crossbar so that most of the weight is distributed to the stands or the bar will flex in the middle. TIP: the hanging weight of paper will cause it to unroll itself! You need to clamp your roll to stop it from turning or it will all end up on the floor, woops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value We got this to hang a 10'x24' muslin and take some pictures of out kids. The set up was simple and fast. The method used to connect the crossbar pieces is quick and reliable. The crossbar does sag just slightly if you extend it the full length, but I would think that is expected at this price point. It didn't sag enough to be detrimental in my pictures. The stands are not air shocks, but so long as you know that it's not a problem. Overall, they are simple and sturdy enough for me and what I do with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product, Great Price I was a little worried about the low cost of this item, and that it would be clunky, but it was very stable, even when fully extended... you would almost have to try to knock it over. Very sturdy. I'm very happy with this purchase, and the bag is a great bonus! Just be sure to get the 2 spring clamps... the 1 clamps are too small for claming to the base of the stands.
