E90 E Series 3-Way, Floor Standing Speaker (Single) - Black Overview

The E90 3-way, Dual 8" floorstanding loudspeaker with MDF enclosure and Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal waveguide reproduces sound with unparalleled spaciousness and definition.

The pure titanium tweeter and the midrange transducer are mounted on a Linear Field Proximity bezel that insures a seamless transition between the middle and high frequencies. The PolyPlas cone woofer features traditional JBL engineering, the same technologies used in JBL's Professional equipment that can be found in stadiums, music halls and move theaters around the world.

Shielded components allow placement near video monitors. High-temperature oversized Kapton voice coil and HeatScape motor structure allow these speakers to effortlessly play all types of movies and music. The woofers are built on cast-aluminum frames, which reduce distortion and increase power handling capability. A low diffraction IsoPower baffle directs the sound power into the room, reducing distortion caused by cabinet vibration. The lock-mitred computer-designed enclosure requires no bracing. The FreeFlow flared port increases bass response without adding unwanted port noise. JBL's custom-designed drivers allow the use of simple Straight-Line Signal Path crossover networks with high-quality electrical components, minimizing processing that could degrade the signal. Equipped with all-metal, 5-way, gold-plated binding post speaker terminals.

High-Frequency Transducers
Using neodymium magnet structures and pure-titanium, ultralight domes with rubber surrounds accurately reproduce lighting-fast sounds like cymbal crashes, yet are extremely rigid to eliminate distortion and ear fatigue in the transition between the midrange and high-frequency bands.
Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) Waveguides
Enables speakers to evenly disperse high frequencies and create precise stereo imaging over a wide listening area - instead of in just a tiny "sweet spot" right in front of the speakers.
Cast-Aluminum Low Frequency Transducer Frames
Will not flex and cause audible distortion (as do thin, stamped frames) when subjected to extreme bass reproduction. Studio Series thick cast frames stay rigid, even at very high volumes. Their aluminum composition doesn't interrupt the magnetic fields, rendering more accurate reproduction, just like in our largest pro speakers.
Heatscape Precision Motor Structure
Protects low-frequency transducers from destructive thermal buildup - the number-one enemy of professional and home speaker systems. Heat is conducted away from the transducer's sensitive voice coil and dispersed.
PolyPlas
Enhances the organic fiber structure of low-and midrange-frequency cones, without adding significant weight. The PolyPlas coating eliminates internal resonances and unifies pistonic motion. You hear tighter bass and improved midrange response.
Freeflow Port Architecture
Extends low-frequency response by coupling internal air motion to a computer-designed aperture with a flared shape, allowing maximum air flow without audible "port noise". The result is room filling bass from a speaker that doesn't fill your room.
