Behringer UCA202 Overview

Offering a supremely small and budget-friendly solution for getting stereo line-level analog audio into your computer, headphones, speakers, and more, the Behringer UCA202 packs a surprising set of I/O and features into an ultracompact, bus-powered 2x2 USB audio 2.0 interface that fits in your pocket and needs no drivers and no special configuration.

Its unbalanced stereo analog input (on RCA jacks) allows it to accept line-level signal from sources such as a DJ mixer, keyboard, drum machine, or mixing console, so you can record anything from song ideas to live shows. The UCA202 has more outputs than you would expect on a such a miniscule box—a stereo RCA output for running a feed to a speaker system, a S/PDIF optical output to send digital signal to an external D/A converter, and a 3.5mm headphone output with a volume control for convenient personal monitoring of the input or output.

With internal 16-bit / 48 kHz AD/DA converters and a USB Type-A connector on an attached cable, the UCA202 plugs directly into your Mac/Windows computer for quality recording or streaming. It comes with a bundle of audio recording/editing software, effects plug-ins, and virtual instruments, so you can have fun and be productive without having to buy a slew of programs.

UCA202 vs UCA222
Whereas the UCA222 incorporates the USB 1.1 standard to maximize operability with older, less powerful computers, the UCA202 utilizes USB 2.0 for the connection to your host computer, allowing it to take advantage of the faster data throughput afforded by USB 2.0. Also, the UCA202 features a gray housing, while the UCA222 has a red enclosure.
For DJs, Musicians, and More
Connect outputs from a DJ mixer, an electronic instrument such as a keyboard or drum machine, or the stereo outputs of a mixing console or cassette deck to your computer, effectively merging the analog and digital worlds.
Stereo Line Input
The RCA input jacks on the UCA202 are ideal for accepting unbalanced line-level signal from the analog outputs of one stereo device or two mono devices.
Multiple Outputs
With a stereo RCA output, a level-adjustable 3.5mm stereo headphone output, and a S/PDIF optical output, the UCA202 can simultaneously feed signal to three devices such as speakers, headphones, and a digital mixer.
Low-Latency Direct Monitoring
Flip on the monitor switch to hear your input signal without a distracting latency-induced time delay; this is best during recording. When it's time to edit and mix, turn off the monitor switch to listen to playback from your computer.
Simple Operation
Since the UCA202 is bus powered via USB, it requires no batteries or external power supply. Also, it works without having to download and install drivers, so you can just plug it in and start using it.
Includes Software
To enhance your audio experience, the UCA202 comes with audio recording/editing software, effects plug-ins, and virtual instruments. Record live audio, convert tapes and records into digital recordings, edit sound files, mix sounds together, change the speed or pitch of a recording, and much more.
