Photogenic Sync Cord Monoplug to PC Reviews

Works till it doesn't.

The sync cord I had previous to this one lasted 10 years without an issue. I bought this one to replace it. I used it a total of 3 times before the camera end of the cord broke internally, and it no longer works. A piece of the male end was stuck in my camera but even trying to put it back together doesn't work - the connection is broken internally. Now I'm stuck waiting 3-7 business days to finish my shoot.

Need to buy this product again and again

The cord works as it should, however it doesn't last long before giving problems. The design seems to be flawed. Where the cord is attached to the camera, over a short period of time breaks internally causing it to short out and misfire. This is my 3rd cord in 2 years.

question

Will this cord work with Nikon D80 connect to moonlight 1/4 inch...?
Asked by: Rudy K.
The Nikon D80 does not have a PC flash socket built into the camera so you will have to buy flash hot shoe pc socket adapter to connect it directly to the strobe. but you are better off getting radio triggers so there is no voltage feed back through the PC cable back to your camera.

question

Will this work on a pixel king pro hss transceiver to an anova pro (3.5mm jack?) If male jack too large, can an adapter piece do the job? I've never used the anova pro, can the transceiver do the job without the cord? Is the Anova Pro wireless capable?
Asked by: Susan C.
While B&H is not a Pixel authorized dealer and we do not carry Pixel products, I have looked at the transceiver on the manufacturer's website, as well as the Rotolight Anova Pro 2 LED light (which we do carry). Unfortunately, you have chosen an incompatible cord; the Photogenic Sync Cord - Phono to Male PC, Straight - 15', would not be compatible for your usage needs as it has the larger 1/4 phone connector, and the Rotolight Anova Pro 2 LED light uses the smaller 1/8 (3.5mm) sync terminal. As such, I would instead recommend purchasing the Impact Miniphone Male (3.5mm) to PC Male Sync Cord (18 ), B&H # IM10032390, for your usage needs. It is shorter and would have the correct connection for use with the Rotolight Anova Pro 2 LED Light. The Rotolight Anova Pro 2 LED Light has a built-in Elinchrom Skyport radio transmitter. It is only wirelessly compatible using another Elinchrom Skyport radio transmitter or a Rotolight Elinchrom Skyport radio transmitters. It is not directly compatible with the Pixel King Pro Transceiver, and will not work wirelessly. You would need two (2) of the transceivers; one mounted on the camera's hot shoe as a transmitter, and one connected to the Anova Pro 2 LED Light via the sync cable listed above for use as a receiver. You will not have High Speed Sync (HSS) compatibility with this setup; HSS is only compatible when using the Elinchrom or Rotolight transmitters. HSS is not transmitted via a PC sync cable.
