    Steadicam SteadiSTAND reviews

SteadiSTAND for Flyer, Flyer LE, Archer2 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for the Pilot I use this to balance the Steadicam Pilot. It's very compact and fits nicely into its own carrying bag. It's spring loaded and sets up easily and quickly. One thing I don't like is the balancing stud...rather, I don't like that it must be removed before returning the stand to its case. It's not the easiest thing to remove, quite honestly. The only other complaint I could have is maybe the price. I wish it was about $20 cheaper, considering the small size overall (when compared with a standard C stand). But the big selling point here is compactness and portability, which makes it still a pretty good deal if you own the Pilot or Merlin (and really, even if you just want a smaller C stand)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I use it with my Pilot After getting stuck without a C stand on a location shoot, I decided I would always fly with one. I needed something heavy-duty but small enough to fit in a case. This stand fits the bill perfectly. It comes with a handled black case to fit the stand. I actually carry two in the case, although it makes it a bit heavy. The foam on the stand makes it easy to carry. The only thing I don't like is that the spud has to be removed from the end before you can pack it into the case. There is a zippered pouch to keep it in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Steadistand I had some doubts about purchasing a Steadistand because of the price but I changed my mind when I realized how compact the size is compared to other stands. The only complaint that I read about in the reviews was that the top stud is hard to remove to put the stand back in its accompanying bag. I quickly solved that problem the first time I used the stand by using the mounting bracket arm as an extraction tool by tightening it down with the wing nut on the spud and pulling up. The spud comes right off! The stand is an elegant chrome plated and is heavy duty and well balanced. It is well suited for the Pilot sled that it supports. The only need for a sand bag is if you are on unlevel or rough ground. This is a must have to to properly deal with balancing your Steadicam sled and camera and have a safe haven for it to rest on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed if you own the Steadicam Solo If you own the Steadicam Solo you are going to need a stand to balance it. This stand is well built and pretty compact. Unlike most of the other stands out there this is very easy to set up and it fits conveniently in the boot of a small car. The stand also comes with a bag and that is a huge bonus. I do a lots of wedding etc... and it is very convenient to carry it around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its handy... The merlin is a high quality handheld steadycam. While it is able to handle large cameras like the Z1, I wouldnt recommend it as it is too straining for the arm to handle. However it is a lot easier to control and stablise with larger cams. It does well for small camcorders but it is not easy to control and requires quite a far bit of practise!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow! Slick! If you've got a Steadicam, you need some kind of stand to do static and dynamic balance on. This stand definitely serves the function. It's chromed all over, spring loaded, has angled feet on the legs that fit the floor perfectly, and even comes with a handy carrying bag. But you're not going to be carrying this thing far from a vehicle: it's a substantial 10 pounds. 59 inches tall when extended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow very stable and well built I film mostly weddings and live events- This stand is very well built! I was impressed when I received it. It definitely has some weight to it! But It is more than fine to support my Merlind with my 6lb hmc150 and wireless mic. I would reccomend it, just be mindful that it is not a light piece of equipment to transport.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent C Stand!! This is the first c stand I've owned, although I've used a variety, from old to new. I must say the build quality is excellent, and the fact that it collapses down into such a compact case is a huge bonus. I have also used this for lights and holding boom poles and it works like a champ!
