Impact UBW30 overview

  • 1Description

This is an Impact 30" White Reflective Umbrella. Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining.

Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.

Suggested use: 1 or 2 person head shot.

    Impact UBW30 reviews

    Umbrella - White - 30" is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value Great for simple lighting set ups on location - I like these because they are short and easy to take with me, and used as shoot-thru umbrellas, yield fairly good results. They seem to be very cheaply made though, since they are well, cheap. I haven't had trouble with mine, but they do not have the solid professional feel of my westcott umbrellas, for example. On the flip side I'm not nearly as concerned about them getting damaged on location, since they aren't a huge investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little modifier This is a fairly compact umbrella that folds up nicely. I am a bit concerned about the smaller pieces of aluminum parts, but then again it's small bits of aluminum. Just have to be careful is all. The screen itself feels and looks nice and produces a great softening of the light source. Can't ask for much more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made value This 30 umbrella is well made and a good addition to any studio lighting system, especially one with a tight budget. I also have the 45 version of this umbrella and it represents an even better bargain for those looking to light a larger area. The 30 size is definitely more compact if space is at a premium.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the money I purchased this reflective umbrella to use it in my art studio as an accessory to photograph my paintings. There is usually a lot of glare on the surface of the canvas this handy little tool is useful to fix this issue. Easy to use with my floodlight stands which I also purchased from B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from seems stronger tha I expected I use the umbrella for portaits with sb800 light going thru the umbrella. Works great! It is better made than I expected. The center post is capped or solid metal (cant't tell) all my other umbrellas are hollow at the end. Seems as strong or stronger than ones I've had for 20 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight simple to use Bounce Light S I use these primarily with Lowel Tota lights. Less garish than OEM and aftermarket silver umbrellas, I really love the soft, wide light provided. Also, they are nothing if not breathtakingly cheap! I strongly suggest these as an addition to your lighting package.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke the second time I opened it Cheap piece of equipment, for a cheap price. Opened this thing up for the second time ever, the locking mechanism broke and now it wont stay open! I'm going to try and DIY-it with a cotter pin, its not even worth the postage sending back for an exchange.
