Still Rockin CDRs

As a recording studio, many of our artists are moving to online streaming platforms for distribution of their final production. However, there's still a large installed base of CD players out there, especially with older consumers. Therefore, artists are still producing CD albums of their work to meet the older demand and to offer at live venues for performance promotional sales (media tables). Therefore, we offer local CDR copies of their albums (and high-volume pressed CDs online). The Verbatim CD-R 700MB / 80-Minute blank CDR discs work great, offer a full bright white surface for inkjet graphics and are our choice and are our choice for lower volume CD album distribution. Highly recommended.

What is the inner printable diameter?

The Epson printer I use has a program called CD Print that I use to design CDs with. CD Print has an option to which the design template can be set. The inner diameter can be adjusted from 50mm to 18mm. The outer diameter can be adjusted from 70mm to 120mm. The settings I use are 18mm for the inner diameter and 116 for the outer diameter giving me a total printable area of 98mm. This gives me a total of 98mm printable space for labeling. The reason I choose 16mm for the outer diameter instead of 120mm is to allow for variance around the outer edge.

I recently shipped one of these discs to a wrong address and when it came back the label was peeling off and the disc was no longer readable. Is this something that normally happens?

I haven't tried affixing traditional disc labels to these as I use direct inkjet printing through a CD Printer which is what they are designed for. I'm not entirely surprised the label was peeling as the surface of the CD is design for that direct printing operation, not for label adhesion. Don't know what your budget is but the direct printing method works GREAT for these and I've seen discs that were printed 2+ years ago with still a great image. We are using the Primera Bravo 4101 CD/DVD printer but there are other models from the same manufacturer that I bet would work great too. Can't speak for the quality of other printer manufacturers but I know there are others out there.
