SD-1 Secure Data Case is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 273.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay for casual users. The case appears to be rugged and well-made but upon further investigation I found the weakest part of the case is the hinge and latch which are crucial to its function. The hinge is just a flexible plastic strip that over time will break and leave you with a useless case. I would prefer a metal hinge like on the Ruggard brand case model #MCH-SD8B. Also the latch is just a protruding plastic tab that could easily break off leaving the case unable to stay closed. If they made the hinge and the latch stronger it would be a great case. I recommend the Ruggard brand case model #MCH-SD8B for professional use and this case for budget crunched casual users.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For Cards & Snacks I have been know to frequently pass out while shooting weddings if I do not feed myself. This looks very unprofessional to the client, as it draws attention to me when I fall to the ground (we typically try to maintain a low profile when shooting weddings). This SD card case fixes that problem for me. It boasts enough room to fit your media and snacks for a full day of shooting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish I'd bought one of these a while ago I had been suffering with a loose collection of mismatched individual cases for my SD memory cards--and this case even holds my old xD cards too. The case materials seem sturdy, the design is splash-proof, and the latch is secure (even bordering on *a bit hard to open* when new). The size is about the same as a first-gen iPod, or an old cigarette case--perfect for a pocket--won't take up too much space in your camera bag, yet the shiny exterior makes it easy to spot in there. At this price, I bought two of them...even if I never use the second one, I'm satisfied. I like this so much I would even give it as a gift to a fellow photographer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feels very sturdy, cards feel secure Upon opening the package, one of the outer shells fell off trying to open the case the first time. It appears to only be held on by two double sided tape strips. I added some glue and placed the shell back on, no problems since. The case is heavy for what it is and feels very sturdy in your hands. The SD cards fit very nicely inside and keeps them very secure. Other than the one outer shell coming off, I haven't had a problem with it. I was expecting the color to be a gray/metal tone, but it is actually more green than anything. That's not a fault, but just a heads up. All in all I am happy with it. For $ it's not a bad deal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HORRIBLE! BROKE LOCK TABS OFF CARDS!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! As soon as I took it out of the box, the plastic exterior case fell off. Fine, I fixed that with some glue rather than the single piece of double sided tape holding it on. Put my memory cards in then went to shoot a football game. Okay, I'm on the sidelines, need another card, go to remove it and POP! The lock tab gets broken off by one of the plastic pieces meant to help hold the card in place in the case. Of course I didn't notice this until AFTER I'd tried three cards... The only way I can see this case NOT doing that is if you locked your cards every single time you used them and lets be real, whose going to do that? If you put your cards in aimed the other way, you have to grab them by the contacts and that's just an even worse idea!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good but doesn't do the job. The case in terms of strength is well built. The issue I had with this case is that it doesn't hold the SD cards snugly in place. I was hoping to use this case to hold expensive language courses that are on SD cards. The problem is you close the case and when you open it the cards have fallen out of place and loose. I will probably default to the cheaper cases that have vinyl like pockets for each card rather than rely on the foam in this case to hold the cards in place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lining has no give The shell of the case is metal and seems durable enough. My issue is with the lining inside. I expected it to be made of some sort of stiff foam, but it actually feels like plastic. There's no give whatsoever, so one slot is slightly too large to hold a card while another was a tad too small and I broke off the lock tab of the card trying to push it into place. I'll be buying a more Pelican case that will actually keep the cards in place without having to force them in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SD-1 Secure Data Case Does the Job! Affordable, yet of quality construction. That's one of the chief factors which convinced me to buy this SD card case. The molded interior holds each of 8 SD cards securely and is easy to use (just push the SD card firmly into one of the recesses). Exterior of aluminum: great for impact protection and fits in accessory pockets in my camera cases. The clasp holding the clam shell case closed is also easy to use and sturdily made. Great value. Protecting the investment: since even ordinary Class 6, 4 GB SDHC cards cost around $14 /each - keeping 8 of them protected in this case means you're protecting about $112 investment. I hope VidPro produces a case for AA batteries as well.
